1st Semester Reflection

1) So far I believe the quality of my work is decent but could be better. This is because even though I pay attention to the project I feel as if there is always room for improvement. Sometimes my work isn't always submitted on time but I can also always do better by going beyond my first idea. I do put a lot of effort into my projects since I always take multiple images and I don't give up. As well as putting a lot of effort into my work I participate and stay on task during class. In the 2nd semester I am going to focus more on what needs to be done and do more if needed.

2) I don't think there is anything that could be done with photography that isn't already being addressed.

After seeing the 2nd and 3rd image it changes my viewpoint entirely, as I thought it had a different meaning. Now I see that the work is being installed in Waterford, Ireland. The man also really was not in the image as I once thought but was just helping install the work. One can see that it is really just the girl with a neutral face looking right at the camera. The size affects the image completely as when made smaller I even thought it meant something else. I think the image is urban because it seems like it is being put on a wall or bridge where many passing by can see. The expression shown on the girls face looks like she has no emotion since she isn't smiling or upset.

In the image shown there is a man climbing up a girls face. I believe he is using a strand of her hair to climb as he is made very small. To me this image seems to be an artistic image as it interprets life through the creation of objects. The photo looks to be photoshopped to make the man small enough to be climbing the girls face. I think the meaning to this image is that the man is trying to get in her head. She seems to be frozen and surprised while the man is determined and climbing.

The Power of Internet Images

1) I believe that in the images that Jenny posted she shows that she is adventurous, brave, confident, bold, and fearless.
2) She was successful because in the images it looks like she is traveling and on top of buildings which to me shows that she is adventurous and not afraid to do anything. She is also confident because she posted pictures at the beach and with someone else.
3) I think Jenny would be a good friend to someone who loves to travel like Jenny does. She also seems like a good role model as she is confident and brave. She also looks like she would be a good neighbor as from her post she seems to be caring and giving since she's holding someones hand in the second photo.

"Lost In The World Like Me"

1) I believe that the video goes to show what is going to happen to us if we let society control us. It is trying to get peoples attention about the things that can occur if we don't make change. For example pollution is becoming a major thing and in the video people are just polluting and don't care because they'd rather worry about how they look on social media.

2) It think the video conveys exactly what it was trying to show and was effective. It shows clearly what can happen in just a few years if we don't change or act on it. 

3) I believe this is more of a cautionary story of our current social situation. This is because you can tell that things that happen in the video are already beginning to show in the real world but we haven't gotten to that point yet. For example everyone is on their phones nowadays and though we aren't as attached as the people in the video it is going to happen if we continue to do so.
